Fluff Bingo Round 2 Updates and Changes
Hi everyone! Thank you to everyone who signed up for Q1 Fluff Bingo Game! Q2 Fluff Bingo is just around the corner. After the first round, I took into consideration some feedback that was given to me regarding the game process and some things that I observed on my own. So, here are some of the changes that I have made to the game for this round
-Longer Rounds
The FB Round 2 will give each writer 11-13 weeks depending on when they sign up to write at least 5 five fics of 500 words minimum.
-More Prompt Word Choices
These words will be randomly added into bingo cards. Additionally, you will have a chance to view the prompt list before you sign up. This will allow potential participants to decided if the words are inspiring enough to play and to give you a chance to start thinking about what you would like to write.
-More Bingo Cards
Last round was my first time hosting this kind of challenge. So, it was trial and error. I have added a lot more bingo cards to this round for greater variety. The Bingo cards are still pre-made, but there are more choices for random distribution. Additionally, I have found a better randomize app which will allow more variety on each card.
-Page Aesthetics
To reduce the busyness of the page, we won't be tagging fandoms going forward. Since all fics will be grouped by quarters, readers can find them there or by using AO3.
-AO3
I’m still new to that site, so I am not sure how to set up a collection yet. However, if you use the tag “Fluff Bingo Quarter 2” that should group the post together for your reading enjoyment.
-100prompts
I also run a second community with prompt tables. A few people said they found it helpful to combine prompts with their table or challenges from other communities. There are a lot of great prompt communities on DW and LJ that you can choose from if you think this will be helpful.
I hope these changes make the game more enjoyable this time around and I will be putting up information about round 2 shortly.
